I honestly felt like a main character the second I stepped off the plane and onto the Maglev train, which literally floats on magnets and hit over 300 km/h—talk about a dramatic entrance!
I spent my days living my best life, starting with a cheeky 'mall crawl' where I found the most aesthetic linen shirt and a coffee with a tiny plush bear hugging the cup—too cute for words. I did the whole tourist bit too, wandering through the Ming Dynasty style buildings of Shanghai Old Street with their gorgeous curved roofs, and then hitting the Bund to see the skyline. The contrast between the old-school shikumen stone houses and the massive 'bottle opener' skyscraper is mental. For food, I lived on spicy cumin lamb and the most incredible croissants from M Stand, because the coffee scene here is doing the absolute most.
