The Story
Rome was honestly such a total main character moment, I am still buzzing from all the espresso and endless history. The city felt so electric, with every corner looking like a literal postcard waiting to happen and the fashion game on the streets was absolutely top-tier. I was obsessed with how every single piazza had its own drama and charm, making me want to move into a tiny apartment just to live my best Italian life forever.
My trip kicked off with a chaotic but iconic morning at the Colosseum, followed by a wander through the Roman Forum where I imagined all the ancient tea being spilled centuries ago. I climbed those 550 stairs to the top of St. Peter’s Basilica which was a proper workout, but the view over the city was worth every single drop of sweat. I made sure to fuel up on authentic carbonara and gelato in Trastevere, and I even managed to sneak into the Galleria Borghese to stare at those stunning Bernini statues until my eyes popped out.
This whole holiday was a total vibe and surprisingly manageable on a mid-range budget, especially if you stick to the local trattorias for dinner. It was a classic city break that left me feeling completely obsessed with Italian culture and ready to book my next flight back.
