Can you believe I actually survived the organised chaos of Nairobi? Honestly, I went in thinking it was just another city break, but the vibe was absolutely unmatched, blending high-speed urban energy with the most gorgeous green escapes you’ve ever seen. It’s definitely not the sleepy holiday spot I expected; it’s vibrant, loud, and totally iconic.
My days were a total whirlwind of activity! I started by getting up close and personal with the giraffes at the Giraffe Centre—literally eye-to-eye, which was the cutest photo op ever—before heading to the Sheldrick Trust to watch the baby elephants have their milk. I also dragged myself up the Ngong Hills for a hike that nearly did me in, but the views of the Great Rift Valley were worth every drop of sweat. When I wasn't playing explorer, I was living my best life in Westlands, grabbing drinks at The Alchemist and hunting for cute crafts at the local markets.
Honestly, Nairobi is such a mood. It’s not exactly a budget holiday, but if you’re smart with your spending, you can definitely live like a queen without breaking the bank. It was the perfect mix of culture, wildlife, and cheeky evening drinks, and I’m already plotting my return to see more of those tea farms.
