Oh my days, landing back in London felt like stepping into a total vibe check – the Thames sparkling under that rare blue sky, influencers snapping pics everywhere, and the air buzzing with that proper London chaos I live for. I was lowkey obsessed from the off, thinking 'this city's got more glow-ups than my Insta feed'. Initial thoughts? It's like the ultimate gossip sesh with history, fashion, and food all flirting at once.
Kicked off at Westminster Tube, straight to Big Ben and Parliament for those iconic selfies (the light was chef's kiss, btw). Crossed Westminster Bridge for epic views, then strolled the South Bank like a boss – past the Globe Theatre, peeked into Tate Modern (free art hit!), and clocked the Shard piercing the sky while spotting the Gherkin and Cheesegrater across the river. Hunger hit hard at Borough Market, where I smashed a gooey raclette toastie and some cheeky oyster sliders from the stalls – proper gourmet heaven. Next day, dived into the British Museum for the Rosetta Stone and those creepy-cool Egyptian mummies (side-eye to the light-fingered curator tea), then wandered Westminster Abbey, tiptoeing over wonky steps and fangirling over royal wedding vibes. Wrapped with posh afternoon tea at a cute spot near Piccadilly, scones and clotted cream for the win.
All in, this was a fab weekend city break on a mid-range budget – reckon about £400 including digs, eats, and Tube jaunts. London never fails to deliver drama and delish, but pack comfies for all the walking or you'll be proper knackered. Would 100% go again for more market munchies and museum mysteries!
