The Story
Oh my god, babes, I have just touched down from Cairo and I am literally buzzing! The vibe is total chaos in the best way possible—think dusty gold sunsets, constant beeping, and enough ancient drama to make a reality show look boring. I was honestly a bit worried about the heat ruining my makeup, but the atmosphere is so electric you just sort of forget you’re glowing like a disco ball. It is the ultimate bucket-list destination and I felt like a literal queen walking through the city of the Pharaohs.
I started my journey at the Pyramids of Giza, and let me tell you, they are massive—photos do not do the scale justice! I spent the morning dodging camels and getting that iconic Sphinx selfie before crossing the new bridge to the Grand Egyptian Museum, which is basically the sleekest place I’ve ever seen. For lunch, I obsessed over some local koshary which is basically the ultimate carb-load, then headed to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization. Seeing the 22 royal mummies, including Ramses the Great, was actually so surreal and a bit spooky, but their gold jewellery was 10/10 inspo. I also popped into the Alabaster Mosque at the Citadel, which was stunningly peaceful, though I had to make sure my shoulders were covered to keep it respectful.
Overall, Cairo is a total whirlwind and surprisingly affordable if you’re good at bartering for souvenirs. It’s the perfect 'culture-trip' holiday for anyone who wants to feel like an explorer without sacrificing the glam. Just a cheeky tip: bring a scarf for the mosques and plenty of small change for tips, because everyone is going to want a piece of your holiday budget!
