The Story
Oh my days, Antigua is honestly the most aesthetic place I have ever stepped foot in! The air was so crisp, and the colonial streets were literally dripping in charm with all those vibrant, colourful buildings against the backdrop of massive, moody volcanoes. I spent my first morning just wandering around Parque Central, sipping a coffee and people-watching; it was the perfect spot to soak up the local vibe before the afternoon rush of street vendors kicked in.
My days were absolutely packed with the most gorgeous activities. I did a proper walking tour to get the tea on all the historic ruins, which were so hauntingly beautiful and perfect for my grid. I also couldn't resist the ChocoMuseo—my sweet tooth was screaming—and I made sure to grab some chuchitos on the weekend, which were honestly life-changing. The absolute highlight, though, was hiking up to the Cerro de la Cruz for that iconic panoramic view of the city; my legs were a bit jelly after those 333 steps, but the photo op was totally worth the effort.
I’d say this trip was a total win for the budget, as you can live like a queen without spending a fortune. It was the perfect mix of culture, history, and just general holiday bliss.
