I touched down in this Kazakh city and immediately fell for the contrast between the chic urban streets and those massive, snow-dusted peaks looming in the distance. I made sure to stroll through Panfilov Park to see the Zenkov Cathedral, which is basically a colourful masterpiece, before hitting the Green Bazaar to hunt for local spices and snacks. I even trekked out to the Charyn Canyon to hike the Valley of Castles, and the reddish rock formations were just begging to be on my feed.
